Station wagon supercars !

April 14, 2016 at 19 h 06 min

Hey everyone! I was checking the automotive world news this morning at work… because that’s what you’re supposed to do at work, no? Oh… 🙁  Anyway, I double checked my calendar because I really though we were still on the 1st of April!

I found out Chevy is going to make a Corvette wagon! I mean.. a wagon? but why?  because why not!

I tried to find a picture from the rear but could not find it …

It looks good and I like the fact that it is one of a kind. Well, almost one of a kind because I believe the concept is a bit close to the Ferrari FF!

A vehicle I like a lot! I like the idea of a Ferrari you can use on a daily basis. I could clearly see myself on a mountain road in an FF. Unfortunately it is a bit too much money for my thin wallet. 🙁 This type of vehicle goes for around 200 000€.

Maybe one day!

During my lunch break earlier today I quickly photoshopped a few pictures to give you an idea of what other supercars could look like in a sportwagon version!

here are the pictures :

Let’s start with a Regera SW ! 😀 I wanted to do this one because a few years back they did a version of the Agera R with a roof box!

Now we have a Ferrari LaFerrari FF, A bit more “wagonny” that the actual FF. but it it is interesting! I would still go with the regular Laferrari though.

918 SW

How about a 918 SportTurismo? This one could be nice!

Let’s end that post with a Huracan shooting break!

If you can recognize the vehicle used for the photoshops, leave it in the comments ! 😉

Filling the gap

November 10, 2015 at 16 h 25 min
Here is Annie and Alex’s project. They contacted me a month ago and asked me if I could take care of their living room. Despite the lack of free time I have right now, I accepted. They told me they are not in a hurry and they didn’t mind waiting another few month!
The project is quite simple. They want to get rid of a door way that they don’t use anymore, and in a stylish way if possible! This doorway is an opening between the entrance corridor and their living room. So my design will have to serve two propose at once. On the living room side it will be a bookcase with decorations and maybe a reading light, and on the other side it has to be for shoes, keys and all those stuff you don’t know where to put when you enter your house!

Very early in the project, I thought that my design should not be entirely closed. I want to be able to see through the furniture, it will give an impression of space.
Also, because Annie and Alex are in a tight budget, I wanted to use as much piece of furniture from the shop as possible. This is how this project turned into a hack Ikea solution!

Bringing that 1950’s TV back.

October 22, 2015 at 17 h 19 min
IMG_1037A few month ago I bought a 1950’s TV at a garden sales. Of course it doesn’t work and is in a state of disrepair that will not allow it to ever work again..
But I love the 1950’s look of it and I was sure I could do something with it! So i bought it.
It is a Sonneclair, a french brand that went out of business years ago.
I also own a Sonneclair Lamp Radio that does work either.
I wanted to find a way to use that TV! I had a lot of ideas.. I could transform it into a Bar to store bottles and glasses ! but the screen would stay as boring as a rainy sunday afternoon. And what else can 92939712you do a rainy sunday afternoon except drinking in front of your turned off 1950’s TV? Yes a lot of other activities.
So I wanted to transform it into a fishtank ! if only I could find one that fits properly into the screen displacement, it would look perfect! but I don’t live where the TV is stored anymore. So I would not be there to take care of the fishes! 🙁
The best idea I had… was to completely transform it into … a TV !
Ok it’s not extremely original but the result should be pretty cool! The idea is to take a modern day LCD screen and retrofit it in place of the old screen.
The first step was to find a screen that would fit! I looked all over the internet and in magazines, The ideal size for this TV is actually a quite common 17inch screen, BUT it can not be 16:9! but not exactly 4:3 either. So it was a bit hard to find the perfect screen but I ended up finding one on the french equivalent of Craig’s list(Le Bon Coin) that fits into the place left. It’s not perfect but I think it’s as good as it going to get.
The next step was to remove every thing that I didn’t need from the wooden box. in order to make it lighter, and to make space for the new screen.
I found quite a lot of spiders in there! maybe some of them were older than me! the good news was they were all dead! well, good news for me, not for them obviously.
because the new screen was not exactly the same size as the hole left by the old one, i had to create wood plates on the top and on the bottom of the screen. I took some black wood and painted the edges so it will be discreet when everything is finished.
I hope I will be able to continue this project and maybe finish it before the end of the year!
To be continued.
